Neurofeedback Treatment

NewBrain uses neurofeedback treatment that is fully covered by Medicare. At this time, insurance coverage applies specifically to services provided through our treatment center. In addition to Medicare, we accept a wide range of insurance plans for this program, including Humana, Devoted, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and select Blue Cross Blue Shield plans.

What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is a gentle, non‑invasive form of brain training that uses real‑time feedback from your brain’s electrical activity to help strengthen healthier, more efficient patterns of functioning. By measuring brainwaves through sensors on the scalp and providing immediate visual or auditory feedback, neurofeedback teaches the brain to self‑regulate—improving focus, emotional balance, sleep, and overall cognitive performance. It is a well‑established method grounded in neuroscience and learning theory, and it supports the brain’s natural ability to reorganize and optimize itself over time.

What does a neurofeedback session look like?

Each session begins with placing a comfortable EEG cap on the head, allowing us to measure the brain’s natural electrical activity with precision. During training, clients engage with interactive, game‑based or media‑based activities that respond directly to their brainwaves. When the brain moves toward a healthier pattern, the game or video rewards it—an evidence‑based learning process known as operant conditioning. Over time, the brain learns to reproduce these optimal patterns on its own, leading to lasting improvements in attention, mood regulation, and cognitive efficiency.
